10. Christine Dunlap Farnham

In her senior yearbook, Christine Dunlap is described as “the friendliest person on campus … and the busiest,” a characterization that would hold true throughout her lifetime.  After graduating from Pembroke in 1948, Christine Dunlap Farnham gave years of service to the community and to the University, serving as alumnae trustee, co-chairperson of the Brown Fund, and founder and first chairperson of the Pembroke Center Associates.  The project for an archives devoted to the history of women was high on her agenda when her life was cut short by a tragic automobile accident in 1984.
